PORT OF LONG BEACH – Commercial & Print Campaign
The Los Angeles based ad agency RadarWorks creates a television and print campaign for the Port of Long Beach each year. In 2013 they contracted with me to create a 30 second and a 15 second commercial as well as various outdoor print assets. The agency provided the green screen footage of the actors and the audio assets, I did the rest. This was a fun yet demanding project. In the beginning we had to revisit the look time and time again because the agency wanted it to be as simple as it could be, but more evolved than the previous year’s campaign which was simple cutout 2D animated elements. Eventually I came up with the look and once the agency got it approved by the client I hit the ground running.

RadarWorks provided storyboard images and scratch audio, that I eventually turned into a timed animatic.

Here’s the :30 second commercial which was animated using Adobe After Effects, Element 3D, and 3D Studio Max. The video footage was provided by RadarWorks. It was 5K Red format that I keyed, color graded, and composited so it fit in the color palette of this commercial.

Below is an assortment of print images that I rendered
